Episode 22 - A Little Yuletide Fear

With fondest holiday wishes, we present the next collaborative effort of "The Original Unoriginal Podcast" and its fabulous spinoff "Cinemantics"! In this episode, Nick and I celebrate the season with murder and mayhem, courtesy of the 2005 comedy-horror classic "Santa's Slay". There's B-list stars, delicious one-liners, and tragic destruction of outerwear...you just can't miss in what could be "The Best Movie of All-Time"! Episode 21 - Metal + Full of Holes = Holey

At last, the backlogs are clear as Nick and I take you back to Halloween weekend when we sat down to discuss Joel Schumacher's controversial (to nerds, anyway) 1995 film "Batman Forever". To be fair, the movie in question doesn't get as much play as an analysis of the Batman film franchise in general, but there's no doubt that this may be "The Best Movie of All-Time!".

Episode 20 - Mike's Hard Year That Was

It's the last conversation of the year, and Nick and I set out to recall all the notable gans that were shenannied in 2009 (Obama, Jacko, etc.)...but, as usual, we get sidetracked imagining different casts for classic movies, going off on a very fitting rant about that oft-discussed television pastime of mine, and ruminating on a recent motion picture re-title that can only (fittingly) be called...a Cop Out. Plus, alcoholic cider, crackers, and delicious cheese!

Episode 19 - The Big Rock Candy Mountain

How outdated is this episode?--To wit, it has been almost two months since Nick and I got some wild hairs in certain places and decided to discuss WWE Films' 2006 theatrical offering "The Marine". In the course of said discussion, we note this film's ridiculous wealth of explosions, its relation to action films of the past and future, and one of the BEST kills in any movie EVER. Plus, inexplicable/terrible attempts at comedy!--Not by us, mind you. They're all found in this, the first instance of "The Best/Worst Movie of All-Time!".

Episode 18 - Just Like Mariska Hargitay

It's almost another Drunkisode...but only almost, as Nick and I return to the porch for a discussion of America's love/hate relationship with "Glee", our disgust at the continued existence/success of the "Twilight" franchise, and the season's new televised comedy gems.

Episode 17 - Battle of the Burgers

We here at the O.U.P. proudly present the perfect post-Thanksgiving chaser...MORE FOOD! Indeed, in the latest installment of "The Best Movie of All-Time!" sub-series, Nick and I take a bite out of one of my favorite films and one of the funniest cult classic comedies ever, 1997's "Good Burger". Join us as we share some hearty laughs, reminisce about the good old days of Nickelodeon, and sympathize with a former Mrs. Kevin Federline. (We guarantee it's not the one you're thinking of.)

Episode 16 - Freedom Costs A Buck-O-Five

The discussion gets a little political as Nick and I discuss the most recent case of discount store discrimination, the wonderfulness of Tina Fey, and a very specific kind of pornography. Plus, the theme song to a failed FOX western pilot!

Episode 15 - The Fat Kid Revolution

Things get a little personal as Nick and I discuss one of my favorite movies and quite possibly "The Best Movie of All-Time!", Walt Disney Pictures' 1995 classic "Heavyweights". Relive the magic of this quintessential underdog story as we delve into this film's ties to my hometown, its role as a launchpad for today's comedy superstars, and the fact that it's just so unendingly wonderful.

Episode 14 - Playing for the Fans, NOT the Critics

After what feels like forever, Nick (my longest-running guest, as it were) and I get all conversational again, discussing (amongst other things) the status of movie criticism in the world and my guiltiest pop culture pleasure.

Episode 13 - Amok! Amok, Amok, Amok, Amok, Amok!

In the first collaborative, co-hosted, crossover event with The O.U.P.'s recently-debuting spinoff "Cinemantics", I am joined by that show's host Nick Melton as we discuss the wonders of what could very well be "The Best Movie of All-Time!", Walt Disney Pictures' 1993 classic "Hocus Pocus". Then, in a special O.U.P.-only bonus, the discussion continues with our memories of Halloweens-past. It's a spooky good time, kids!

Episode 12 - The Morning After Drunkisode

The "thrillogy" concludes, as Nick and I enjoy some breakfast and discuss a myriad of topics such as unnecessary changes at the "college of choice", great televised animation, iffy televised series finales and other such whatnot.

Episode 11 - The Babysitting Blues Explosion

A trio of guests (newcomer Kelly Dove, the returning Greg Green, and birthday girl Stephanie C. Kernisan) and I gather in an echo-y apartment to discuss what could very well be "The Best Movie of All-Time!", the 1987 Chris Columbus classic "Adventures in Babysitting".

Episode 10 - The Comic Drunkisode

The "thrillogy" continues as Nick and I drink YET more wine and turn the discussion to all things comical, comic book, and generally geeky. (REMINDER: We are both fairly intoxicated, so try your best not to hold certain things against us...or me, as it were.)

Episode 9 - The Electric Squeezit Acid Test

Nick joins me once again, providing the next selection for our "Best Movie of All-Time" sub-series, Richard Elfman's 1980 cult classic "Forbidden Zone". As wine and cigars are enjoyed, we discuss the ins and outs of this trippy, deliciously crude musical extravaganza featuring TV's Tattoo of "Fantasy Island", a senior citizen schoolboy, and the one and only Danny Elfman in an absolutely scrumtrulescent cameo.

Episode 8 - The Sexy Drunkisode

In the first of what he has termed a "thrillogy", my guest Nick Melton and I enjoy some fine wine, smoke some fine cigars, and get a little personal on your asses, discussing past romantic entanglements, current fetishistic behaviors, and other such matters of too much information.

Episode 7 - The Morphinominal Morphilogical Evening

After yet another extended hiatus, The O.U.P. returns, as Jeff and his guest Worth Beasley discuss the finer points of 1995's "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie" in another installment of the O.U.P. sub-series, "The Best Movie of All-Time"! It's Morphin time, bitches!

Episode 6 - The Last Frak

In this installment, Greg and I say a heartfelt farewell to quite possibly the greatest television series of all time, "Battlestar Galactica"...but fear not, BSG uninitiated listeners! We kick things off with 28 minutes of spoiler-free discussion of one of the stupidest decisions in cable television history, plus Greg's full, detalied introduction to the O.U.P. fans. It's frakkin' tasty podcastage, kids.

By popular demand and after almost a year, it's the fifth installment of The O.U.P.! In this episode, I am joined by a close, personal college chum by the name of Greg Green. He and I start out discussing the merits of television but are happily interrupted by special guest star Stephanie C. Kernisan, host of "Media Monkeys and Junky Junkies", at which point the conversation goes gleefully every which-a-way.
